Extraordinary Church Podcast

What if the biggest battle you’re fighting isn’t around you, but within you?

In Free From Me, Pastor Sarah Thompson shares a powerful and practical message about feelings, truth, surrender, and learning to live free from the emotions that try to control us.

Your feelings are real, but they don’t get the final word. God does.

It’s time to stop building our confidence in ourselves and start building our confidence in Him. Watch, share, and let God speak truth into the places where your feelings have been speaking the loudest.

Be free from you. Walk in victory through Jesus.

This week we continued The Cost of Extraordinary with David's words in 2 Samuel 24, “Nor will I offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God with that which costs me nothing.”

David was offered an easy way to worship. Araunah was willing to provide the land, the sacrifice, and everything necessary for the altar. Yet, David refused.

He understood that somebody else's sacrifice could not become his obedience.

Today, that same truth challenges us in the fall of 2026.

We cannot earn salvation. Thankfully, Jesus already paid the price we could never pay. But following Him will eventually touch something we value, our time, resources, comfort, priorities, plans, and preferences.

The question this week is not, “How much does Extraordinary Church want from me?” or "How much does Pastor Akil want from me?"

The more appropriate question is this, "What is Jesus worth to me?

I want to encourage you to spend some time before the Lord this week and ask, “Where have I been negotiating with obedience because of what it might cost me?”

Then take one practical step.

You never know what God may build tomorrow from today's costly yes.

Emotions are part of being human, but they were never designed to sit in the driver’s seat. In You Got Me Going In Circles, Pastor Akil Thompson uses Psalm 42 and Psalm 43 to show how a believer can acknowledge fear, anger, grief, disappointment, and insecurity without allowing those emotions to become identity or authority.

Discover how to question the story your feelings are telling, speak truth to your soul, choose obedience before your emotions change, and place Jesus back at the center. This message will help you move from emotional reaction to spiritual maturity and learn to feel deeply while being led by the Holy Spirit.

Watch it. Live it. Share it!

In The Lid Is The Limit, Pastor Akil is calling us beyond spiritual exposure into true Spirit fullness. God does not want us controlled by lesser things. He wants us opened, filled, governed, sanctified, and led by His Spirit.
